How EBQ Supported Challenge Success’s Successful Migration to Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack
Challenge Success needed to migrate from Airtable to Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack, so they enlisted EBQ’s help. Because of EBQ’s expertise and guidance, Challenge Success can now take advantage of a customized platform that not only meets their current needs but can also evolve as they do.
The Challenge
Challenge Success is a nationally known nonprofit that is affiliated with the Stanford Graduate School of Education. Their mission is to support schools in improving their students’ well-being, engagement, and sense of belonging. For example, they created a step-by-step framework designed to guide schools in becoming places where young people can thrive.
Previously, Challenge Success was using Airtable. But as their impact grew, so did their need for a more robust platform.
“We were kind of building our own CRM from scratch using Airtable, but we felt like we were outgrowing what was possible. A lot of the things we were trying to build were native in other tools. In the end, Salesforce’s nonprofit license discounts were enticing for a smaller organization like us — but with the support of an expert for the design work,” said Matt Swenson, Director of Educational Partnerships.
The Solution
Matt knew that their organization would need an expert to guide their migration efforts, but they were not interested in hiring a part-time Salesforce administrator. So, their Salesforce Account Manager introduced Challenge Success to EBQ.
“Our account manager at Salesforce said, ‘I think I got an org that is doing awesome work in your space and can balance that line between working with nonprofits and teams that can sell ‘services’. I met with the team, and that led us to partnering,” said Matt.
Throughout the migration and Salesforce implementation, EBQ had been communicative and transparent about their progress.
“The team was pretty responsive for the times when an email made sense. They were also open to a quick pop-up meeting. We’re an all-virtual team, so we liked how we could leverage technology to move through the Salesforce design process,” said Matt.
More importantly, Matt was impressed by how the EBQ team took the time to parse through 20+ years of documentation to understand the organization’s history and past workflows. EBQ was open to experimenting with Nonprofit Success Pack’s features and capabilities to meet Challenge Success’ unique needs.
The Results
Challenge Success can now see their overall impact and drill down on partner details with their custom Nonprofit Success Pack architecture, which boosted their team’s efficiency. Not only did EBQ help architect their CRM infrastructure, but they also helped Challenge Success build their program management workflows.
“As an impact-driven organization with a limited budget, it’s really important to find these efficiencies to work with more schools. We’re just really happy with what has been built and have been using it on an hourly basis. It’s now a tool that everyone on our team can use at this point,” said Matt.
Today, the Challenge Success team feels empowered to not only adopt Nonprofit Success Pack but also to think of their next platform iteration.
This is not a project that we could have done on our own. We could have bought Salesforce on our own, but to leverage Salesforce effectively was not something we could do on our own. From a cost-efficiency standpoint, it didn’t make sense for us to hire even a part-time Salesforce admin with the level of expertise that would be necessary for this migration.
