EBQ Awarded by Inc 5000
EBQ Awarded by Inc 5000 this past weekend, the annual Conference and Awards Ceremony was held in Washington, DC. The event celebrates Inc. Magazine’s yearly list of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. For the second consecutive year, EBQ made the list – #1158 this year and #655 in 2012. Aside from the honor of achieving placement on the Inc 5000, the event itself is also an invaluable opportunity to connect with other growing businesses and notable entrepreneurs from around the country.
The conference is a three day event featuring keynote presentations by prominent founders and CEOs, as well as more intimate sessions designed to allow for a free exchange of ideas and experience between business leaders. This all culminates in a black-tie gala and awards ceremony.
EBQ’s Founder and CEO Tim Edwards attended the event along with Chief Revenue Officer John McLellan and Vice President of Business Development Mike Edwards.
“As always, Inc. put on a great show,” remarked Tim Edwards upon returning from the event. “We met many entrepreneurs that had their hands in a few different businesses,” added Mike Edwards. “And all of them were there to listen and learn how other’s built unique businesses and how they created growth.”
The conference itself takes on somewhat of a trade show feel, featuring an open area to walk through and visit a diverse array of company booths. “Overall, the show was very well attended,” John McLellan explained. “Most attendees were CEOs, Presidents or VPs and at these kinds of conferences their guards are down, making them very approachable.”
Mike Edwards further explains the benefits of such an environment: “Many folks just assumed we were a typical vendor that set up a booth at a show. Once they learned that we were not only a vendor at the Inc. 5000, but we were actually on the list, the conversation opened up and questions like ‘What is it that your company does?’ and ‘What makes you different?’ begin to come out.”
“A number of times,” Mike continued. “I heard an attendee say that they had heard of companies similar to ours but since we were on the Inc. 5000 two years in a row… we must be doing something right.”
